A car's speed is generally expressed in terms of how many miles or kilometres it can cover per hour. And yet these measurements say little about how a car feels on the road. They cannot convey the joy brought by an engine responding instantly to the throttle, or the pleasure of looking out over a long, sweeping bonnet.
